At Reframing Studio, we believe the key to solving the Hangar and Facility Optimization challenge lies in creating spaces that not only enhance workflow efficiency but also cater to the future work environment envisioned in the 2050 Vision on KLM E&M. The layout of hangars should prioritize modularity and flexibility, allowing the spaces to adapt as technologies and operational demands evolve.

In creating the E&M Sky Centre of the future we focus on three main quality KPIs:
-
Creation and Innovation: Creating space for employees’ need to push boundaries through creativity and innovation
-
Part of a caring unity: Experiencing your attribution to and being cared for by the complex organisational system of E&M
-
Exchange and Collaboration: Collaborating inter-organization: being a hub in the greater ecosystem around E&M

Our approach focuses not only on efficiency but also on creating a collaborative and innovative work environment, where employees are empowered by tools that support both physical and digital workflows. With this mindset, the optimized hangar can serve as a blueprint for the future of aviation maintenance facilities. In this blueprint, we focused on 4 layers: Spaces to care, spaces to develop, spaces to connect and spaces to exchange. In the image below an abstract of this blue print can be seen.
